BARRUA ROSSO IGT AGRIPUNICA 2019
BARRUA ROSSO IGT AGRIPUNICA 2019
One of the most promising names in wine production born from a joint venture between the Tenuta San Guido Group, the Santadi Winery, Antonello Pilloni president of the Winery and the legendary Tuscan winemaker Giacomo Tachis. It was the latter who thought of Sardinia and convinced everyone that they could produce a fantastic wine from the grapes grown in Sulcis.
In 2002, AGRIPUNICA acquired a company made up of two estates, Barrua and Narcao, located in the south-western area of Sardinia, in an area known as Basso Sulcis. Everyone knew well what this land was capable of and after the first harvest there was unanimous agreement in stating... “ it will be an amazing wine! ”.
It comes from native grapes and French varieties vinified in purity and coming from spurred cordon vineyards grown in Lower Sulcis. It is a wine with an intense and lively ruby red colour, with complex aromas of ripe red fruit (mainly black cherry), spices, notes of liquorice and hints of myrtle. Elegant wine that demonstrates impeccable workmanship.
